I sat in the hospital room trying to memorize everything about her. Her, lips, her eyes, the way she moved, the way she spoke.... I never wanted to forget any of it. We spent the whole day at the hospital, not many words between us. Both of our lives would change today, mine for the better. The monitor on baby girl kept going off. Her heartbeat would go normal and then just drop off, repeatedly. They decided it was time to move, and from there everything happened so quickly. I stood beside birth mom and helped to hold her leg as she pushed. The Dr. then handed me the scissors to cut the cord.... We had the blackest, fullest head of hair I had ever seen on a beautiful baby girl. 7 lbs 9.2 ounces. I watched terrified as birthmoms grandmom, then birthmom held baby girl. They passed her to birthdad for a moment and he handed her to me....I truly do believe in love at first sight..... She looks a lot like birthmom, I see her birthdad in her too.....but she is my heart... Happy 10th birthday to one of the loves of my life.....Momma loves you!!
