I saw Elysium tonight with Tiela Dailey and Matt Ready. I enjoyed District 9 so was really looking forward to it. No way around it, the movie was dumb. Well made technically, but the characters and story were dumb and filled with holes. (Well, some of the characters were supposed to be filled with holes, but not the plot). The technology was all over the place. Spongebob Squarepants is more internally consistent than this movie. We actually laughed out loud at one point where we were not supposed to laugh. Overall, a disappointing cinematic experience. Hopefully his next one is better.
