I saw a piece of technology in my sons science classroom last - TopicsExpress

I saw a piece of technology in my sons science classroom last night that blew the mind of every parent in the room, which is saying something since were in the heart of silicon valley and new technology does not impress easily. Im going to try to explain it. its a 3D computer. In this case, it had a beating heart sitting on the screen. You use a stylus, and pick up the heart. You can then rotate it anyway you want with the stylus IN THE AIR in front of you - you are wearing 3D glasses so its really there in the air in front of you. You can move your face into the heart and look at the inside of it - you zoom in on the chambers of the heart, highlight parts, and dissect it. You can watch the blood flow and by the things you choose to do you can change what happens. Am I making any sense? Its like walking through the heart - like the Magic school Bus series but for real. No more dissecting worms. They can dissect real things - pull them apart and study them - and then put it down and pick up a new thing that they wish to study. I wish I had a photo of the parents sitting in front of this computer with their mouths hanging open. I see crazy times ahead for our kids!
