I saw a similar thing at Almeda Speedway in 1971.One of our ministocks hit the exit opening post in turn 3.His plastic seat broke and the driver was knocked out.Several people ran from behind the wall to render aid but cars were still running at speed. We did not have the corner lites like today. One of our cars saw the commotion at the end of the back straight and locked the brakes, causing the car to spin 180 and backed into the wrecked car AND 2 people.Almeda was a 3/8th and carried a lot of speed.I heard one man was killed and the other lost his legs at the hospital. DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR WHEN OTHER CARS ARE MOVING!!!!!!!And NEVER let pit crew members get onto the track. The emergency crews do that.Im glad we have traffic lites around the track now and plastic seats are outlawed.
