I saw the movie NOAH today, and it is a wonderful story. Its important to understand that the Bible is not meant to be a history book. In general, it is meant to be a revelation of the Creators relationship with humanity. In going to see the film, I didnt expect it to precisely follow the biblical story of Noah. I didnt expect it to give a racial depiction of biblical people in their true form. That being said, I think it is a great film that accurately depicts the conflict between the freewill of humanity and the will of God. It artistically presents the biblical story while creatively including flood stories from other traditions. In my opinion, this movie strengthens the biblical story while calling humanity to struggle with its understanding of the Creator. And one more thing--it does not bother me at all that the name God is never used in the film. Truth be told, it wasnt used in the original texts of the Bible either.
