I saw the movie Son of God yesterday. (It will hit the theaters February 28th.) Im praying that God will use it to get people talking about Jesus. If you like Bible movies, and especially if you liked the mini-series Mark Burnett did, youll enjoy this movie. When it comes to Bible movies I always think the book is better than the movies, but some people might see the movie who havent yet read the book. Im sure there will be people who criticize the movie for not being exactly like the Bible. Like Passion of the Christ it borrows from church tradition instead of just Scripture, when it comes to the stations of the cross stuff. But it identifies Jesus as God in the first minute, and has a clear resurrection, so it is already the best movie about Jesus to hit the theaters. I appreciate the considerable effort Mark Burnett and Roma Downey put into this movie, and I pray God uses it.
