I saw the smoke from this around 11am and immediately knew it was a brush fire :-( I was afraid at first that it was in the Limestone Canyon Wilderness Park but when I drove that direction for appt I had previously setup, I could see it was past that - They havent said arson yet but since there was a fire very close to there just last week that was deliberately set, Im pretty sure its the same person. Thank goodness we dont have high winds!! Im actually surprised Kevin McArthur hasnt deployed the Fire Watch volunteer team to keep an eye on all the other spots - in the past, arsonists have set multiple fires in a short period of time but even though its obviously super-dry out there, its not a red flag warning so Im not second-guessing the people who know a lot more about this stuff than I do. I just hope they get this fire out quickly and hope we dont have any more! Yikes!! Everyone!! Whether you are an official Fire Watch Volunteer or not - please PLEASE be aware and watch for suspicious behavior, make a note of it and report it - better to report something that turns out to be nothing than to ignore it and see everything go up in flames! I have a bad, bad feeling that this fire season is going to be terrible but maybe if we all work together, we can keep disaster to a minimum and prevent a repeat of the horrible fires in 2007 and other bad years. Were all in this together so go forth and be [Fire] Watchful!!
