I see Splott Play Centre is to close as part of budget cuts (tonights News), so with no Pool for up to 2 years (if youre an optimist) the kids in the area will have absolutely nothing to do in terms of leisure. Who knows, the council might even have a plan (unofficial of course) to close the Pool until everythings gone quiet, and then announce that unfortunately, due to cuts in funding from Westminster, they will have to shelve plans to build a not so state of the art hub in this area. Perhaps Im a bit of a cynic. I realise that this site is non-political, but it might be an idea to let the Labour Council, and our local councillors, know that if we feel we are being shafted by them, we (perhaps as a group) will do everything in our power to campaign against them by supporting their nearest rivals in the next, and subsequent, election/s. Perhaps then theyll stop taking the people of this area for granted, and do something positive for our kids.
