I see many posts about the #Ferguson verdict from my Facebook friends. I am genuinely curious about the reaction. There is absolutely no doubt that it is a tragedy that someone was killed. There is absolutely no doubt that it is a tragedy that a policemans life was changed forever, for the worse. But what I dont understand is how we reach the conclusion that the decision to not indict is a tragedy. Were any of you on the grand jury? Did you hear the evidence? Were you there the day of the shooting to witness it? I wasnt. Its impossible for me to judge what happened that day because 1) Im not on a jury hearing evidence about what happened and 2) I wasnt there to witness what happened and 3) the only information I have on the event is what the media reports, which I think everyone can agree cant be taken as evidence. What am I missing?
