I see the Minneapolis Star & Sickle - oops, I mean Star & Tribune - is starting another campaign against the Minneapolis Police because of the "questionable" shooting of a burglary suspect back in May. They tend to gloss over the two cops he shot before he got himself shot. Kinda reminds me of the series of shootings a few years ago where the police had to shoot some emotionally disturbed persons who were threatening to harm other people. A campaign was started, asserting the police should "check their backgrounds" before taking action in such cases. That campaign sort of petered out when a guy tried to rob somebody at knifepoint near Nicollet Mall and stabbed two cops who responded. After the man was shot the newsies STILL said they should have checked his background before acting so aggressively.
