I see today that oil companies reduce Rs 2/- per litre on petrol - TopicsExpress

I see today that oil companies reduce Rs 2/- per litre on petrol but the benefit does not get passed to end user as government hikes excise duty to off set the reduction. I recall a Telugu film where a man narrates the marital woes to every one who visits him with a wedding card. He says same story, same invitation, same rituals but only name changes. That is the only difference. And he narrates the difficulties in wedlock. I may correlate this to petrol/diesel prices. The oil companies reduce a paltry amount when the crude falls substantially and the Government increases the excise duty to set off the reduction. This is the trend in India. Whether it is Congress or BJP or any other party in power same story. But only name changes. Can Indians really can have good governance and the democracy is for the people and not FAR the people. God bless my great country.
