I send love and gratitude along with very best wishes to all my Facebook friends and my LGBT family—you are especially valued for being in my life, especially meaningful to me this holiday season. The last days of this year have been hard because I’ve lost a great friend, a friend to me and to all of us, Jim Duggins. My In Memoriam to this remarkable gay brother is posted at lambdaliterary.org; it’s an attempt to convey the impact he had on the world around him and the example he set with his wide open, generous, loving heart. I’ll miss him, as will so many others whose life he changed for the better during his time with us. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on Facebook, having recently been in Australia with my Aussie spouse among other activities this busy year. I want to send a very much overdue salute and many thanks to Marie Castle…My two sequels to Daughters of a Coral Dawn—Daughters of an Amber Noon and Daughters of an Emerald Dusk—were released by Bella Books in November, and I couldn’t have asked for a better press agent than Marie with her fulsome appreciation of Coral Dawn and the follow on books to that original story. I love all the marvelous women in these novels, they embody a lifetime of thinking about my gender, our nature and possibility, and I rank the trilogy with my very best work. So many thanks, Marie, for seeing what I can only hope all readers will see in the books, and a special shout out to the women of Bella Books who did such a splendid job with the spectacular covers, and to Karin Kallmaker who somehow found time to craft the beautiful jacket copy. Happy holidays one and all, I wish you peace and love.
