I sent this text to my boss this morning: Hey Nikki... I just wanted to say thank you for all youve done for me as my supervisor. Ive been thinking a lot lately and have decided that I must end my employment with DWS effective immediately. I just cant continue doing this and neglecting other opportunities I want to pursue. Im sorry if this puts an unreasonable burden on you and the team but I have to move on. I will not be coming back to work any more so please distribute my caseload as you see fit. Thank you once again for all youve done but I just have to move on. Im sorry. Of course... its an April Fools Day joke. :D However, when I showed up to work, I discovered that my cubicle was completely cleared out and my name plaque was in the garbage. My supervisor had no idea that I had just pranked her. I walked up to her in her cubicle and said, April Fools! Ill never forget the look she gave me. It was that look of realization and relief. Boy we had a good laugh about it all. It was a good one! Have a safe and enjoyable day, everyone!
