Truth being the Stafflebacks were convicted of one murder only. The mine shafts were pumped out in 1897 and no bodies. Call the Historical Society at Columbus for the truth. They not only advertise it on the internet but on Route 66 on a sign west of Riverton. This is not a fable or story, like they compare it to. Like Peter Rabbit, Dorothy of Ozz, or Mickey mouse. This is a read house and a real story. Pure and Simple it is lying to the tourist and a disgrace to the honest Galena people. It is a flat out lie and they know it. We want the sign gone.. Like the naked woman window in the house: it is disrespectful to the Ladies and the Children of the town.
