I share a lot of my N Scale work here and wanted to share this with my fellow model builders. I built this this weekend for my kids. Even though its not N Scale I wanted to share it here for two reasons. The first is: I have read some posts lately about how expensive model building can be. And two kids not taking an interest in hobbies like ours. My son has gotten into a board game called 40k (which is little space marines and Orks that about 1.5 high) that you fight with on large models. I built this castle out of almost totally foam which was cheap! Only a few bucks for foam. The second is even though my kids have iPhones, iPads, xboxes, DSs and everything else electronic. My older son and his friends spent the better part of this weekend building and playing 40k. I think part of the reason was my participation in teaching them how to build scenery and structures like this. I agree model train building is expensive but even more so when you mess it up trying to learn. This was a project that really cost next to nothing and was a lot of fun. I hope you like it!
