I shared Sunday that a very dear, close friend of mine- a fourth sister, if you will- lost her grandmother (who raised her and was for all intents and purposes her mom) after a long battle with a serious illness. As expected as it was, my heart broke right along with hers when I heard the news. Tonight, its breaking all over again as the realization dawns on me that Im unable to be with my sister as she and her family lay this dear, sweet woman to rest on Thursday morning. I promised her long ago when Grams battle started that I would be with her every step of the way to the bitter end, and later this week I have to break that promise. The woes of starting a new job when youre already taking a lot of time off right from the beginning for various reasons... I love you, my sister, and am still metaphorically holding your hand every step of the way through this process!!!
