I should have said this somewhere around Thanksgiving, but I didnt realize it until just now. I am very thankful that Market Basket survived that assault on its bottom line in the form of Gooch and Felicia [whatever]. I am very thankful that the stores reopened and even though they were financially strained, they continued the 4% discount started earlier in the year. Although the news outlets think that ending is somehow breaking news, its NOT. What IS news, and I am grateful for, is that not only did MB survive, they appear to be thriving. The stores are still packed most of the day, the parking lots are sometimes too crowded to find a good space, and the prices are very reasonable - even with the difficult times this economy is experiencing. Artie T built up a great company, and Im grateful for his leadership and guidance. They run a great store, and Im grateful I can shop there. **Note** No complaints here, just gratitude and positive thoughts. Happy New Year to all and an awesome 2015 to all!
