I signed official divorce papers earlier. Not sure Ive ever felt as defeated. This isnt a sad post, and Im making it public because I havent told a lot of people about my marriage falling apart, and I want others to know that it is ok to feel fragile or vulnerable. Social media has a way of making lives look cookie cutter and pristine. The age of projecting a perfect picture to friends and family is upon us. Im here to remind you that life is gritty, life is filled with trials and tribulations. Behind every perfect picture is a hole in the wall. In a way, I also kept it secret because I guess I hadnt even really accepted it. The divorce wasnt my choice and I spent a lot of time trying to change the past. I feel that Ive come to terms with it, but I do feel that in a way I failed my son in giving him something that I never had, a family that stayed together. In the end I know that I was an incredibly faithful and devoted father and husband. I will continue being one of those until the day I die. Now it is time to move forward and continue conquering the world.
