I signed the dotted line in 1984, I went Active Duty in 1985, I earned my Eagle Globe and Anchor on the tarmac and grinders of MCRD San Diego. I got my 0311 Infantryman indoctrination at ITS, Camp Pendleton. MY first Assignment was Marine Barracks at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after that I was sent to 29 Palms MCAGCC, there I served in 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, when the unit was deactivated we became 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, I reenlisted in 1989 and got my entire platoon trashed on my dime. I participated in Operation Desert Shield and my Task Force ...Grizzley.. led the initial ground assault in Operation Desert Storm, after the war I earned another MOS as an Operations Clerk. I ended my service with Honor and some distinction in March of 1993. At that time I returned to my childhood home, and have remained since then here at the end of the road. Make no mistake I am still a Marine..I know where most of my squad and platoon is today, and we meet every so often as Bands of Brothers often do. It was my honor to serve my country with the most respected, feared and most outstanding fighting force in the world..the US MARINES! ooh rah devildogs and with a nod of respect to all our veterans serving, retired, in the ground and those who still answer the call I say Thank you!
