I sit here struggling to articulate the presence of a single man in my life. Late on Friday night Johnny Pirini passed away. He was my uncle and a man I loved and love truly. I sadly wont be able to attend his funeral tomorrow in Ngataki, but I hope, Jonathan Pirini, Wynne Pirini, Georgina Covich and Aunty Helen all know, you are in my heart and in my thoughts. Rest easy Uncle Johnny, you will be missed. I wont lie, I have shed my own tears over the news, I recall a lot of memories growing up in Houhora. Dad used to always threaten us with sending us to uncle Johnny so he could kick us in the butt with his wooden leg.... For accidentally putting a butter knife in a toaster of course.... Lol what an amazing presence to have grown in, thank you for being a part of my life.
