I sit here tonight reflecting on the grief filled day that has come to pass and the healing process that has begun. As the Reverend that officiated the funeral said..."We all know that fire burns...and fire scars...But in Michael Hough the fire that burned was in his heart for his love of his family and the fire department...And all those that he touched he did not leave a scar but a memory that will be carried forever with them." I can only hope we did him proud as an Honor Guard and as a Fire Department. I would like to thank all the members of the Honor Guard that came together and practiced, set up, coordinated, and executed the final respects for firefighter Hough. Even though nothing ever goes as smooth as planned and tensions may have run high (and for some of us phone calls...) In the end we all remember that this is not about us, and as our motto states: "The best we can do-is the least we can do."
