I spoke with my congressmans office today. One of his staffers replied to my email regarding the reclassification of a Schedule I drug to a Schedule II drug to facilitate more research (talking marijuana here), so we can make a more informed decision on federal law. It was actually constructive, but I was absolutely shocked with one of his comments. This was the first time we have received a letter regarding this. I paraphrased. Am I to understand that no one has written their congressperson at least on this topic? Just no one in MO-7? Heres a question: Do you write or call your elected officials with a cogent argument on a topic or issue? Do you communicate with them at all? This is less of a MWP discussion, and more of a good American discussion. Im just interested in honest communication with those who are elected, regardless of party affiliation.
