I stand in solidarity with the people of St. Louis who have been severely wronged by the police who are supposed to serve and protect the community. Anytime an unarmed person is gunned down especially with their hands up in a surrender position, the shooter needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!!!!! THE KILLING AND BEATING OF BLACK MEN AND WOMEN BY THE POLICE HAVE INCREASED OVER THE PAST YEAR OR TWO. IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY KILLED THE WRONG ONE BEFORE THE SAME ENERGY RELEASED FROM THE RODNEY KING BEATING EMERGED ONCE MORE. I STAND FOR PEACE ALWAYS, BUT AS A BLACK MAN EDUCATED IN DIVERSITY AND CLASS PRIVILEGE I UNDERSTAND THE RAW ANGER THAT MUST BE RELEASED IN ORDER TO SHOW THE POWERS AT BE THAT AN INJUSTICE HAS OCCURRED. THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO THE RIGHT THING WAS PRESENT DURING THE DAY AS PEOPLE WERE PEACEFULLY PROTESTING. ( not covered by mainstream media) THE COUNTY CHOSE UNWISELY AND THE PEOPLE WE NOT SATISFIED AND THEY FELT THE NEED TO MAKE THEIR VOICES LOUDER. Many outside my race might look at my people as stupid and ignorant for looting, burning, and destroying down the neighborhoods in which they live, but I ask that you refrain and try to understand our pain. If people cant feel safe in their neighborhood by those sworn to protect it then you cant expect them to let the businesses and property owners to feel safe making money in their neighborhood while they fear for their lives. Im never for violence! But I do understand.
