I started not to write anything but I decided to tell about - TopicsExpress

I started not to write anything but I decided to tell about something that happened to me this week and hopefully it may help someone else. Two and 1/2 weeks ago I made my 6th month visit to my (PCP) doctor and all the regular test came through OK except my glucose which was lower than before but not as low as he wanted it and my iron count was a little low. He reminded me that around October for me not to forget my flu shot. He ask me if i had ever taken a shingles shot (vaccine). I told him no, and he said that it is meant for people over 50 to keep them from getting shingles. He said that it was a one in a lifetime injection. Well he wrote the proscription but I held on to it until Monday while I did research and a lot of reading on the vaccine. All that I read told me that it would be OK and the side-effects were very minimal at the most. When I was given the injection the medical person told me that they didnt have to inject into the muscle just into the more fleshly part along the bottom of my left arm. I took the injection and went home. Tuesday morning when I woke up I could feel a tingling sensation in my muscles and joints from my shoulder down to my hands. That sensation seem to hold on and on Wednesday the pain really got intense. Thursday morning about 4:am I awoke to tremendous pain from my shoulders to my mid section, around my thighs, my hip joints. I already use a cane because of neuropathy from diabetis. Thankfully I had a pair of crutches in my bedroom. Getting out of bed I could hardly walk. I got no sleep Thursday night, sit up all night because of the pain. Having to switch between sitting and standing, leaning on these crutches. Friday morning I got on the telephone. First I messaged my Dr. He was out. His nurse call me back and she had never heard of that kind of reaction to the vaccine. She advised me to call the pharmacy where I received it and of course they had never had any complaints about the injection. The pharmacy advise me to check with the CDC (Center For Disease. Control.) No they said. Never have we had those kind of symptoms reported to the center. Well I do know that taking that vaccine was the only new and different thing that I have had done to my body since I took my last flu shot which was last year. Still talking the same medication that I have been taking all along. I told you that I had some excruciating, i truly mean pain. Yesterday was a lot of praying for me. I know THE LORD IS A HEALER. FRIDAY night I had decided that if I couldnt get any rest I was going to drive myself some kind of way to the ER. I dont remember when I fell off to sleep but I woke up this morning not feeling as stiff still hurting though. I say that I dont know whether the vaccine gave my the muscle and joint pain I have but this was the only thing DIFFERENT that was done to me this week. It is still a little awkward getting around on these crutches but I make it I still know HES A HEALER. Oh yes and I do believe that someone out there prays for me.
