I still remember vividly sitting in front of the old CRT TV set - TopicsExpress

I still remember vividly sitting in front of the old CRT TV set with my brother, cousins and my late grandma (yes, my grandma - may God bless her soul, miss her so much) watching intensely superstars like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, SuperFly Jimmy Snuka, Ravishing Rick Rude, Andre the Giant, Tito Santana, Roddy Piper, King Kong Bundy, Koko B. Ware, Jake The Snake Roberts, Shawn Michaels - WWE Universe, Ted DiBiase the Million Dollar Man, Bret Hart, Wayne Farris Honky-Tonk Man, Undertaker - WWE Universe, Tatanka, Road Warriors/Legion of Doom and many others, battling it out in Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania back when WWE World Wrestling Entertainment was known as WWF World Wrestling Federation and back when MediaCorp Channel 5 used to air it free. We sneered when the bad guys won, cheered when the good guys triumph, and even, tried to be like some of them, act out their entry run/walk to the ring and even signature moves; it turned out a real failure, we had so much fun. Now even though, I dont watch as much as I used to but I still do catch glimpses of the show and the superstars like Dwayne The Rock Johnson, John Cena - WWE Universe, Stone Cold - WWE Universe, Brock Lesnar - WWE, Booker T - WWE, Chris Jericho - WWE Universe, The Great Khali - WWE Universe, Goldust - WWE Universe, Batista - WWE Universe and others. I know that this sports, if you can call it one, or perhaps a more appropriate term - entertainment, is all choreographed and scripted, and, the winners and losers have all been pre-determined, but the pain, aches, bruises, and even the occasional unexpected accidents that happen, they are all real, and another thing that is REAL is the tribute that they show to the kid CONNOR THE CRUSHER MICHALEK who was battling cancer. Just watch the video - it will get you teared up. Thank you so much WWE and Make-A-Wish Foundation for making Connors wish and dream fulfilled, and to Connor, rest in piece little buddy may your wings spread wide and your heart be filled with joy. I hope to collaborate with Make-A-Wish Foundation® Singapore to fulfill a child wish someday just as how WWE and Connor have inspired me.
