I submitted the following to the CA for publication, but I guess their editorial board skews more toward their pal AC and the gang...this was iin response to his little tirade in the paper last Sunday. Once again, poor AC crying its not my fault, I can only do so much....there is a reason why a witness promises to tell the truth, the WHOLE truth and NOTHING BUT the truth. His poor me editorial does none of this. There ARE numerous options, but it would take sacrifice from him, something he OBVIOUSLY is not going to do. Why doesnt he tell the whole truth about the definition of unfunded liability? Why does EDGE not release all their information? After all it is taxpayer money that has to make up for all those gifts for his fatcat buddies. If he is so confident in this program, open up the books for ALL to see and verify. All his COC buddies that went to your paper and cried, ALL, repeat ALL stand to personally gain from his continued largesse. The pension is currently funded at roughly 85-86%, a ratio the govt considers well funded. Why is the county in such good shape? Why is MLGW in great shape? Didnt the dreaded downturn affect th eir pension investments? Maybe the problem is in those who are investing our money. Just whose brother in law is handling that! The outrageous $1.3 billion liability is also an unfunded liability. Are you scared to tell the public that everyone that owns a house has an unfunded liability? And there is NO, repeat NO govt requirement to fully fund that. Yet you continue to link the two. You have continued to use highly inflated numbers in your speeches. The auditors finally agreed on a figure of $100 million LESS than you use in this article. Why Mr mayor? You refuse to acknowledge the firefighters have offered to take over administering the healthcare fund...all you have to do is pay the 70% you currently do. Yes there are many options you have. However your bullheadedness will not allow you to honor the contract YOUR administration signed. As a taxpayer I am owed the truth, the WHOLE truth and nothing but. Can YOU handle the truth?
