I suggest for everyone to watch the documentary Side by Side by Christopher Kenneally for those who have not seen it. From the sound bites from prestigious directors, actors and producers, the documentary pretty much self-selects on how digital filmmaking has emerged and evolved the medium over the last two decades. Are we filming with this new digital method up to the point where film is no longer necessary? Is film dead? I believe so. Unless, film student, like us, are being taught how to appropriately and efficiently operate film cameras, we would continue the use of the film. However, digital technology seems more efficient and presents much more benefits than the standard 35mm film cameras. But, there are those occasional where is that shot go?! F#*&@#(*&!!!! with digital filmmaking. What are your guys thoughts?
