I support liberalism, secularism, and feminism because they belong to substantive genre of the history of ideas that contributed to the qualitative progress of human thinking, living and peaceful co-existence. Whatever elements you consider as against Islamic percepts will have to be qualified and proved. Stating them as anti-Islam without giving valid reasons for saying so goes against the very core of civilized intellectual engagement. Likewise, denigrating religious views out of spite is equally unreasonable. Where elements of liberalism contradict certain strands of religious precepts, we may respectfully recognize the differences but that doesnt mean we demonize each other and start calling names. And whomsoever thinks that my stand offends, please unfriend me with immediate effect.
