I take full pride in informing individuals as to why they should never talk negatively about Historically Black Colleges and Universities. When our ancestors came over as enslaved individuals, they were not able to attend predominately white institutions (PWIs), therefore, they fought and risked their lives to build institutions from ground up so that African-Americans could get an education. #HBCUs have educated and continue to educate some of the most talented individuals of all backgrounds from around the world. I am beyond proud to be a #HBCU graduate and am successful today because of the educational, personal and professional development I received while there. I have high self-esteem, confidence and an identity I am proud of because of my #HBCU. It is my foundation and I am who I am today because of it.
