I think hes forgetting why we decide to turn in our punch card or salary to raise our kids. Which there is a multitude of reasons why a mom decides to stay home. I may be a stay at home mom, but Im barely home as I cart around my kids, volunteer, and do so much more. Being a stay at home mom is not something to be brushed aside... Its a tough job. While doing this thing he seems to view as a waste of potential working-for-the-man employment, stay at home moms are using their skills to guide and mentor their children. We are partners to schools, groups, churches, communities, and more. The abilities we have and used during our time at home can be applied to a future position in the work world. Rather than tell women this is not what you want them to do embrace them for being the ones that are the backstage players. Embrace them for helping their childrens teachers who are teaching a large classroom of kids, but THAT mom meets one-on-one with each student to read or solve math problems. This spare time of The Mom is not time the teacher had. What about the mom that chose to stay home to teach her child because they were being bullied or have a learning disability. Her efforts will help make all the difference for this countries future OUTSTANDING CITIZEN! What about the moms that create businesses within their homes, where the extra money helps to pay for things like lessons, camps, or a variety of things that help to enrich the lives of their children. Some of these moms even go on to create outstanding products, services, or novels that end up creating a huge bump in revenue, which in turn is good for the economy. What about the groups of women that show strength in leadership as they help with administrative duties in groups, churches, leagues, and any other organization for that matter. Not only are they helping to create good community but they are also demonstrating what power we have in making something move forward and prosper. You want to know who is watching that happen? Not you obviously, not that wed expect you to! However, there are little eyes who love and adore those moms, whom seem to move mountains in one day. These little kiddos will grow up to appreciate what their mom did and they will know that they are capable of doing these things too. Guess what? Their might even be some that want to grow up and be a mom too! Barack, perhaps you and a few others dont want to see women make a choice of becoming a stay-at-home mom, but I dont think you should claim that this country does not want women to make this choice because many of the people within it are who you seem to think are making a poor choice. If we did away with with this fine group of people, think of the consequences that would come. Thank goodness as a citizen, we have the freedom to choose what we want to do with our future. If a little girl wants to grow up to be a mom and raise her kids while moving mountains on a daily basis, she is going to have that right.
