I think that it is a good thing when people with an abundance of money, realize that artists work hard to convey messages that help people, & inventors SHOULD be reimbursed for their time & energy, so that they can continue their works unencumbered. I have found-- as one who has produced a great deal of art & invented some new technologies, & whose time best serves humanity continuing to generate these productions-- that many people who believe & know that art & technology should be free, believe that I should also go out & "get a job" so that I can continue these works-- as they do not constitute work in & of themselves. Others, however-- who I believe comprehend the original purpose of economics in a more sophisticated way-- honour that the work of an entrepreneur is just as valuable as the work of an employee (& sometimes more-so & sometimes less-so) , & often it is these people who use their funds not to perpetuate the works of the "system out of balance", but instead choose to *heal* the financial system by allocating funds into the direction of helping those who are benefitting humanity. A cultural revolution can very much so begin in a mass amount of people learning that we are building whatever system we choose, & by choosing to starve certain sectors of the system financially & feed the sectors that best serve us-- we have the choice to craft an efficient machine that pumps out positive-production rather than useless waste. I believe that in order for a clean economy to exist, it will *require* paying inventors, innovators, design specialists, & those who many would otherwise make less efficient in their works by having them go work in something that serves us all less. For myself, submitting to service in a community who emotionally starves my needs (for having & cooking in a firepit, having access to wild foods, to build & live in a simple deadwood shelter) by creating more needless work via crafting intricate housing, allocating land space for animal husbandry, & casting money to socially-detrimental directions (economic removal of vital resources from the austere sector who is choosing to spend with consideration to others in every transaction), is unappealing to the point that I simply do not stay in those communities. I would rather find the space to craft exactly as I desire-- a more efficient way of living with less work & more production/abundance for all-- than submit to emotional starvation.
