I think the people annoyed by McDonalds workers asking for more - TopicsExpress

I think the people annoyed by McDonalds workers asking for more money are really just upset with their own, and everybody elses low wages, but are too scared and complacent to do anything about it. Therefore, they feel the need to lash out at others brave enough to organize, and smart enough to know that as a human being, if theyre putting in a full forty hours, then as a worker they shouldnt need food stamp or section 8 assistance. The minimum wage was originally set up to prevent companies pushing the average full time worker with a family into conditions of American poverty. The idea that people who make slightly more than minimum wage are now criticizing the average American for doing what this country was founded on, is a great representation of the general populations refusal to look at the bigger problem. Which, if youve ever looked at a graph or chart before, youd see a gross under payment going to unskilled AND skilled labor in relation to what top tier officials are making off all of your hard work. In this respect, Id ask you to put away your old ideologies, look at whos hoarding all the money and resources, and have some compassion for a fellow human being attempting to make a life. God knows in the current job climate not everybody can be a lawyer or welder, so why feel the need to punish cashiers and those in food service? For those of you who would say those executives worked to get there, realize most company owners at giant chains have inherited wealth and company, probably never really worked a day in their lives. Besides, do you really think they guy giving himself $1,000 an hour by paying everybody else $7.25 an hour is a good business mind? That just seems greedy, and anyone with any decent upbringing is taught that behavior like that is shameful. Why do we praise these people then? Do we really want to become that sub-human and animalistic in our approach to someone who could be the person we see every day going to work?
