I think there must be some intelligence chatter that is getting leaked to him through back-channel sources. He probably still has top secret clearance and is privy to a lot of information that perhaps even members of Congress may not know about. I have to admit, when I was in New Orleans shortly after Katrina in 2005, we rode in the bus through a holding area where there were literally thousands of 53 foot intermodal cargo trailers and I thought to myself, it would only take one of those with a nuclear device inside to create a genuine catastrophe. There is no possible way government officials could physically inspect every one of those containers/trailers being stored in that lot. There are no doubt literally hundreds of similar holding areas across this country with similar trailers. It made me think seriously about how potentially vulnerable we truly are. Newt Gingrich was the only person running for president during the last election cycle talking about this and everybody laughed at him. I shudder to think he might be vindicated someday but it really could happen.
