I think were more audacious when we first come to the Lord. Were not so hung up on introspection and any sense of self-value. We almost have like a beginners luck that asks for things and expects to get them, and were not thinking about whether were in good enough stead with the Lord. Were in a very naive state of just believing and this simplistic child-like faith resonates with the Father. But, then we get a little experience, learn this doctrine and that, add to our knowledge, become judges of our own righteousness, and we forget its all about what Hes done for us, about Who He is, not about our ability to present a good enough package. We forget how to function in faith and begin to question ourselves over our own works. This is the dilemma and the challenge, to return to child-like faith.
