I thought I would take a minute and share some lessons I learned - TopicsExpress

I thought I would take a minute and share some lessons I learned this week that might help anyone of you in the future. Ever seen the movie with Kirk Douglas Falling Down? It is a movie where in one day everything seems to take a crap on you, one thing after another. So I had one of these days on Tuesday. Nate dropped his phone into the pool... I was driving around trying to find a repair or replacement and having no luck. In the middle if driving around from place to place my truck window regulator took a dump and the window fell into my door. Then I find out about two other issues with work. So I decided to look on Craigslist for a used phone for Nate. I find one way out in Chandler. I pay $80 and get home after two hours of driving to find out from Verizon that the phone has been reported lost or stolen!!! Now I am out $80! Sooo pissed off at this point. I called the police to report the guy and researched him on the internet to help the investigation. Well after texting the seller that I wanted my money back and was gonna hunt him down like a dog he didnt respond. Lesson from Verizon.... If you are going to buy a used phone off CL or Ebay get the ID numbers and call the servicer to make sure it is OK. Lesson two... Usually the trucks regulators cost around $140 per door. I got on Ebay and found one, shipping included for $34!!!! I ended up getting my money back yesterday after having the police call the seller and tell him he was under investigation for trafficking stolen goods and fraudulent felony phone something... He got scared and brought the money back to me two days later!!! My other two work issues were also resolved. Hopefully that helps some of you down the road.
