I took my grandson, Brett Burtrum with me to hunt with Bob Northrup of Ambler Elk Ranch. Bob donates a cow elk hunt for the Lansing SCI chapter each year. Bob had a small bull that we upgraded to, and I let Brett take it. Brett is ranked #1 in Michigan in wrestling at 171# in Division 4, and I thought he could take the rifle and shoot it anyway! Unfortunately for my check book, Bob also had a bit bigger bull on the ranch too, and we were able to take both bulls after about a two hour trek through the woods.
