I try to see our youth with fresh eyes and a fresh mind. Although I find it problematic that we have taught them to build their sense of importance around material accumulation I also see that this rapper pushes back on many things like concepts of weight, beauty, respectability politics, she claims and demands a sense that her life matters. I think with the proper training, education, development and direction these youth that we often see as lost could be warriors. #imimportant
