I turned down Duke University and others to go to Furman. I am glad that I did. I met my wife to be there, and my kids went on to graduate from Furman as well. In fact, we came back from Texas precisely so that we could afford to send them there--Betty was a librarian there from 1986 until her retirement in 2011. Even I returned to school in my forties and fifties to earn forty-four undergraduate hours in Spanish there--in the middle of my career in political science and philosophy. Overall I cannot imagine a better undergraduate experience. Thank you, my friends at Furman--and those who guided me in that direction. vimeo/82134012
