I typically dont get political on my page AT ALL. I will - TopicsExpress

I typically dont get political on my page AT ALL. I will acknowledge that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This is mine. I dont really care if you agree or disagree with me.I really dont care if you comment or not. Ive seen a bunch of posts about the Supreme Court decision regarding Hobby Lobby today. Im going to publicly say that I agree with that decision. Its not about a womans right to choose anything. The choice in this matter is simply whether or not to go to work at HL to begin with. HL has proven itself to be a Christian company from the very beginning. The people that are going to work there all know exactly who they are going to work for. If you want your insurance to cover contraceptives, dont go to work for Hobby Lobby. Pretty simple concept if you ask me. I was on contraceptives for MANY years so its not that I dont believe in them. I just believe in the companys right to be able to run their business the way they want to as long as it is legal and after today, it is perfectly legal for them to not cover contraceptives. Im also not a holy roller Christian type. In fact the only times Ive been in a church in the last few years was for a wedding, funeral, christening or some event of that nature. I was raised Catholic. I still identify mostly with the Catholic religion. I just dont really agree with everything in ANY religion. I really just believe we all need to be a little more tolerant of others who may be different than we are in some way. I dont care who you are sleeping with, what church you go to or dont go to, what color your skin is, whether you are Democrat or Republican.....if I call you friend, youre my friend and thats all the really matters to me. I firmly believe that instead of the right and the left constantly fighting, perhaps we could all take one step at a time towards the middle of the aisle where we can meet and do this little thing called compromise. SO, back to this Hobby Lobby thing....a few people are boycotting the store. Ok, its your money, if you dont want to spend it at HL, dont. A few people are also now asking the folks who are selling crafts and handmade items where they buy their supplies. If they are purchasing supplies at HL they are boycotting the crafters as well. Ok. Again, its your money. Im going to go ahead and tell you that I buy my supplies EVERYWHERE...including HL. So if you were contemplating purchasing something from me and you have an issue that some of the supplies were purchased at HL, then you probably dont want to buy anything from me. But the one that really chaps my hide is the one where people are going into HL, filling up carts with merchandise, then having them ring it up and refusing to pay for it. This is just stupid. Personally, I believe that will only hurt the worker. The very worker that all these people are so up in arms about helping. It will be the worker who has to put all that stuff back. It will be the cashier who has to waste his/her time ringing up and then voiding the sale. It will be the person at the store level that has to do the accounting for the registers. These are the people who will be hurt by such an action. Someone said if a whole group of people went together and did it and there was media coverage, it would certainly send a message. I will agree with that. But if you ask me, the message it would be sending loud and clear is that a bunch of assholes who claim theyre helping the poor innocent HL worker, have just created a huge mess for that very worker to clean up. Ive worked in retail. Ive cleaned up and I can tell you right now, were I in their shoes and yall were making that kind of mess in my store, Id just want to smack you. So,do me and all the little people that work at HL, a little favor and just dont make a mess for us to clean up. That message that you think you would be sending? In my opinion it would be Hey Im an ASS. I just spent a long time in your store making a huge mess and Im leaving it here at the register for you to deal with. It wouldnt make them change their stance on a single thing. Im also, kind of wondering, if anyone asked all the Hobby Lobby workers if they wanted all this help. What if, these HL workers dont even want your help? What if, they are perfectly happy with the company they work for and the insurance they get through that company? What if?
