I understand. I get the text-generation. I understand function over form. But if you are a writer or a blogger that wants be taken seriously as a professional, you need to keep the bar up on your grammar and syntax. Like really. You only do one thing- you write. That only consists of content/point-of-view and spelling/sentence structure. Its 2 things total. IM TIRED OF READING MAJOR ARTICLES THAT HAVE TYPOS AND TERRIBLE GRAMMAR. How can I take you seriously if you are a writer who misspells simple-ass words?!! And uses weak sentence structure? And uses basic descriptions or un-observed narrative? I dont care, Im expecting solid content. Cause this is your job. You better be at least as good as the old guard in your treatment. This isnt about grammar-policing or placing euro-classic-centric models of progress upon contemporary or alternative styles of writing, its basic bar-maintenance. I am an intelligent person, I want to read shit written by intelligent people who write in an engaging & intelligent way. Twitter--immediate media has its place and purpose, but Ill be damned if good journalism becomes something my children treat as an artifact in a print-museum. Do BETTER. There, I said it. ps. this is why I order ol school mags. They can still hack it.
