I understand how cops and law enforcement can make ill advised choices when faced with life or death choices....but this is uncalled and they need to be held accountable. In the military we had the ucmj (uniformed code of military justice) to protect as well as punish us. Civilian law could hardly touch us, but We could and would get punished for everything...we were held accountable for our actions on and off the clock (in the military you are never off the clock). Given the radical militarization of our police force...I dont understand why we cant put the police on a similar system. At least this way there would be accountability.
