I understand its a lot to read but id invite you to do so anyways. At least the first paragraph. The rest is quotes from the video. Hey, its less than what you had to read in school. When missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serve missions, they do not get paid. They actually pay travel and expenses, leaving behind family for 1 and 1/2 to 2 years just to teach people the Gospel. Please be nice to them if you see them. Members who work in the Church do not get paid. Not even the leaders. It is all service. Not bashing churches who pay those who help run it, not bashing anyone. I have met such kind and loving fellow christians of other churches and a great deal of members from other religions. I just hear so many hateful things said about lds missionaries and sooooo many rumors spread about the church they read from websites and books that are far from what we believe, and it breaks my heart every time. This is my invitation to you to learn more to understand us and why we do things we do instead of believing crazy untrue things you hear other places. When Church members invite others to learn with the full-time missionaries, they are not trying to “sell” a product or “receive prizes or bonus points in a heavenly contest.” “We are inviting you to hear the restored truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ so you can study, ponder, pray, and come to know for yourself if the things we are sharing with you are true.” To those who might respond, “But I already believe in Jesus and follow His teachings,” Elder Bednar said, “Just as Jesus beckoned two of His disciples to ‘come and see’ (John 1:39), so we urge you to come and see if the restored gospel of Jesus Christ enlarges and enriches that which you already believe to be true.”
