I understand that everyone is entitled to their own views when it comes to issues.....HOWEVER....we really need to understand that you just cant compare certain issues with other issues. I have been seeing everyone views on why people are posting more RIP pictures about Robin Williams than Mike Brown......no disrespect to your opinion, BUT These are two differently situations...One deals with mental health and the other is police brutality. You dont know what a person goes thru living with depression and we dont what if feels like when a Mother or Father looses their child not only with police brutality but gun violence until you have experienced it. WE as the African American community need to stop relying on social media and stand up for our rights IN THE RIGHT WAY. Yes social media is used to voice our opinion and concerns but it cant be our only source. We fought for our equal rights by marching and protecting and had leaders who sacrificed their lives to give us the rights we have now. We need to come together not only when something happens but stay consistent. Every time something happens in the African American community we are quick to post and # but what are we really doing to make a difference. Yeah we have leaders who will come to our rescue like Rev Al Sharpton, but why does he only come around when things are negative. Remember Trayvon Martin? Remember how the 2 weeks we were all wearing hoodies and posting, but what happened? Why dont we stay consistent with standing up for what is right. Remember when people made music like Odis Redding A change gone come , Marvin Gaye Mercy Mercy Me. Public Enemy Fight The Power words spoke volume and it inspired the world on not only whats going but it gave people a voice and people listened. Once again I truly respect everyones opinion and by no means I coming off disrespectful but sometimes we need a reality check and take responsibility. At the end of the day we have lost another potential leader by the gun, and lost a man who was well embraced by everyone thru movies. Posting more does not have anything to do what they other. We need to look at what are WE DOING and what the government is doing to insure we are not having recurring issues. God Bless -shaq-
