I understand that it is quite a blessing to have the freedom to hop in a car and drive anywhere you wish. I understand that many beautiful products depend on transportation fueled by petroleum to reach the various peoples of this planet. I understand that many amazing destinations are all over this planet, and to see and experience these places jets and planes fueled by petroleum often must be used. Yet... I urge us all to seriously question and limit the lifestyle choices that call for the use of petroleum and petroleum-based products. I live in the rainforest and it is a spectacular wonderworld of diversity and abundance. It breaks my heart to watch a video such as this and see the destruction that has been taking place in the pursuit of petroleum. I pray that we each work to incorporate more sustainable solutions to our lives. We can buy direct from local craftsmakers and food growers. We can grow our own food and make our own products. We can barter and trade. We can take buses, ride horses, walk, bike, and ride share. We can choose wood, clay, glass, and other natural materials over plastics and petroleum-based products. We can use cloth and paper bags and avoid plastic packaging. We can give up a lot and simplify. Please... my home, and the home of many other people, animals, insects, trees, mushrooms, flowers, plants, rivers, and more live and thrive in the worlds rainforests. Go into your heart, find that deep connection we all have with all of life, consider our future in each choice you make, take the less comfortable path if needed, and choose wisely with love.
