I understand wanting to take the high road and not celebrate Fred Phelps death. I admire it, even. But do me a favor and dont judge people who take a different path. Phelps added a lot of viciousness to a world that had plenty to begin with, and if someone wants to be happy hes gone, thats totally reasonable. I mean, he told gay people that there is a god, and that god hates them. He held up signs with this claim at the funeral services of vets who died in Iraq and Afghanistan. If youre able to love thy neighbor, bully for you. But dont be high and mighty toward those of us who choose to engage in a little visceral catharsis.
