I used to be very aggressively atheist, but came to realize that its an immature an unimportant battle. Overtime, having met all sorts of people, Ive learned that an atheist is no less likely to bend facts to mean what they want and cherry-pick data than a religious person to interpret his sacred book of choice. This past summer Ive started looking into resources for the homeless in North America, and all the major work for feeding and clothing hungry homeless people is church-based. So I volunteered at a homeless shelter for a bit. Go ahead and serenade rationality all you want. But when I see a homeless battered young mom whose kid is taken away and who is a goner because she has nowhere to go and no one in this rational world will want to hire her and who is only finding the hope to go on because of her IRRATIONAL faith, I question the value of rationality. Please pick your battles with care.
