I used to wonder sometimes, why the civilian airline pilots are not authorised to keep parachutes by the airline authorities unlike the airforce pilots who are provided with parachutes and ejection seats for their protection? Well, it could be possibly for the reason that, the pilots are vested with the responsibility of saving all the lives onboard the aircraft piloted by them. If only the pilots are given parachutes for emergencies then they may not give their hundred percent in saving the aircraft and passangers onboard from meeting with a catastrophe and they may even jump off the plane having faced a slight technical snag which may not be as serious as falsely perceived by the panic stricken pilots. If they are not authorised to carry a parachute then they may put up their every bit of effort in avoiding any unexpected aircrashes and thus thriving in the process, who knows, perhaps they may even overcome a critical juncture with a heroic landing. Assuming the pilots have access to the parachutes and they managed to save themselves, not the passangers though, but still, they will never be able to live a normal life again, since the authorities will sack their jobs and the relatives of the aircrash victims will not let the concerned pilots live in peace. Besides, the judiciary will press charges upon the convict pilots and sue them for negligence. So, the better idea is to be a victim in the aircrash or be the saviour. Hail all airline authorities !!
