I voted today, but Kathy didnt. Not that she didnt want to - she wanted to. I went first thing this morning to the polling place nearest our house (Its close enough to walk), and was told that I was not registered to vote there. {What?} An election official called the county office to find out that I was on the books at another polling place eight miles away. {What??} Later in the morning, I made my way to my assigned polling location, and, sure enough, I was identified and handed a ballot. Before leaving that table, it occurred to me to make sure that Kathys name was on the list, too. No, the official said. You are the only Perkins registered to vote here. {{WHAT???}} The lady handed me a preprinted 2x4 piece of paper (pink) with the phone number of the Supervisor of Elections for our county with the instruction for Kathy to call. When I went home for lunch, thats what we did. The Supes office could not find any record of Kathy, only me. {{{WHAT????}}} --- The clincher is that we both registered to vote at the same time and place we both got our Florida drivers licenses, side by side but individually. This is a true story.
