....I waited til the glitter settled! Letter of Detachment Over the past 16 months I have been observing the interactions of the Las Vegas LGBTQ community with great inquisitiveness. In every corner, clique and coupling there have been trials and tribulations, accolades and conflicts, dramas and spectacles. But unfortunately, my personal level of disenchantment for what I have witnessed has finally far surpassed my pride or honor for the community. It truly saddens me to see the continual irreverence that surfaces within the extended Las Vegas LGBTQ family. I am not a martyr, nor fatality. I am a witness. I am an unwilling witness that has finally decided to discontinue my direct involvement and completely step away from the turmoil. I will focus my intentions and energies to a spiritually protected greater motivation. I am not walking away, I am walking around. Forgive my actions if they disappoint. It will be realized eventually that the apparent disappointment is actually a predisposed selfishness. Unrealistic expectations often lead to disappointment, while simple unbiased attention and detachment to outcome often lead to pleasant surprises. The greatest asset to the human experience is the ability to navigate one’s emotions. By practicing the skill of detachment, one can successfully step back from the potentially destructive and tune into the purely positive!
