I walked down the stairs to the street. Some men starred at me - TopicsExpress

I walked down the stairs to the street. Some men starred at me from the alleyway cold heatedly it seemed. I motioned for a cab and when it pulled up i looked up to see Shawn watching me from the apartment window. Where to sir? The cab driver spoke in his calm foreign voice. 17th please. Ill take the rail way from there. He looked and smiled chewing his gum obnoxiously as he spoke once more. Alright then, Sounds like a plan! We pulled away as the heat from inside fogged up the back windows and rain began to fall. I pulled the piece of paper from my pocket that had the address on it as to where i was told to leave the box. I couldnt open it and i dont know who could, but i knew i only had three hours to stop subway six from getting to 32nd. Ten or so minutes had passed as we arrived at the station. I pulled out my wallet and handed the man eight bucks and then grabbed my things stepping into the pouring rain. I walked on down the stairs to the purchase my ticket and then i walked on in the subway. I sat down alone with no one on the train at this time of night, but a man who set down on the far left end from me who was reading a paper. He looked at me and then looked at his paper as the train pulled away. A few moments later the lights on the train were flickering on and off, but then shut off for nothing more then three seconds and when they came back on that man was setting in front of me. He folded the paper and then put his hands together over his knees leaning forward to speak. dont you love rainy nights like these? They have a bitter cold to themselves and they are quite interesting. I nodded my head with a faint smile then looked straight again. Knox. I know why youre here and i cant stop you and id be a fool if id try. Just be careful not to juggle someone elses balls. He laughed and and snapped his fingers, then the lights flickered again, and he was gone. The train pulled into the station way as the doors opened. I walked out and walked up the stairs to an SUV that was waiting on me there. A man stepped out and motioned for me to get in. Knox! Its good to see you son. It has been awhile! Wait ,what? You are not my father? Listen Knox. There is much you dont know, and i honestly dont feel like having a reunion right now so just except it for now. We drove on down the road and through the next stop light, but all of sudden this trucked rammed the side of us and then gun shots were fired from every direction. I ducked down falling out the car door as my dad was shot square in the head. The drivers with guns drove off in a hurry. I couldnt quite recollect all that had just happened, but i noticed there was a marking, on the mans arm, who claimed to be my father. The marking was a book with a lock on the front of it. I never seen it before, but i took it to mind. I finally made it to my feet and grabbed my bag. This was a great way to start off the night.....
